What type of noncredit

Totally online noncredit courses:
Ed2Go classes . . .
Most noncredit online classes are offered
through the www.ed2go.com/pgcc Web site.
These types of classes begin on Wednesdays, once a month.
Classes using Blackboard . . .
A few noncredit online classes are offered
using Blackboard (Bb). These include the "Child Care: 90 Hours" course and
the IPMA-HR online courses.
The Equine Studies courses are offered online,
but you will need to call (301) 322-0873 for more information about registering
and accessing these courses.
ProTrain online courses are offered through the
www.theknowledgebase.org/pgcc
Web site.

Hybrid noncredit courses:
The SHRM classes are hybrid: a
combination of Face-to-Face (F2F) and online. The online component for
these classes is located at the
www.learnhrm.com Web site, using the login information that will be e-mailed
to you by the Distance Learning Center.
PayTrain classes are also hybrid. The
online component for these classes is accessed using the
www.learnpayroll.com Web site, using
the login information that will be e-mailed to you by the Distance Learning
Center.
Pharmacy Technician classes are hybrid classes.
Their online component is located on PGCC's Blackboard (Bb).
You can find which type of noncredit
online class you are taking on the Distance
Learning Center's Web site. Click on this link to go to the
Fall 2008
schedule of noncredit online classes. When you get there, look at the
far-right "Format" column, which indicates the type of class: Ed2Go, Bb,
or other. The type of class will determine the Web
address that you will need to access your course. Click on the type of
class for more information about accessing your course.

What to do before
your noncredit online class begins?
Taking an Ed2Go class?
To be completely registered for an online Ed2Go
class, you must have completed all three of the following steps.
If you are scheduled to take a noncredit online course offered through Ed2Go,
then you must complete the Ed2Go "Orientation" before the class begins. To
accomplish that, follow the Ed2Go registration steps below.
Registration for Online Ed2Go classes:
Step 1. Enroll for the Ed2Go course
and complete the Ed2Go "Orientation"
You
must complete the following steps before
your Ed2Go class start date. These steps must be
completed for each online class you wish to take.
1. Go to
http://www.ed2go.com/pgcc, The online Instruction
Center.
2. Click on "Orientation."
3. Click on "All Courses" (alphabetical listing).
4. Select the course(s) for which you are
registered
—to
meet your instructor and
—to
receive more information regarding your course(s).
5. Click on "Enroll Now" and select the
date you wish to start your course.
6. Complete the Log In and Registration
information
and follow the
instructions on how to access your course(s).
7. At the end, click the "Already Paid" button.
Step 2. Register at Prince George's Community
College (PGCC)
You can register in
person in Room 126, Bladen Hall at 301 Largo Road, Largo, MD,
OR you
can register online at www.pgcc.edu.
(Telephone registration
is no longer an option at PGCC.)
Step 3.
Submit Payment for your course.
Your online classroom
access will be verified as soon as your payment is reflected
in the PGCC mainframe
system.
Registration and payment MUST be made by the
start date of your Ed2Go class. Due to new processing procedures, LATE
registration is NO LONGER possible for classes at PGCC.
No textbook is needed, as all of the Ed2Go
classwork will be presented online.
Taking a Blackboard
(Bb) class?
For most Blackboard classes . . .
You will first need to obtain your Owl
Link User ID, and then log into Owl Link to reset your Owl Link password.
THEN, log onto Blackboard (http://pgcconline.blackboard.com)
and type your Owl Link account information into the Blackboard login box.
Acquire any necessary textbook(s).
For IPMA-HR classes on Blackboard . . .
You will be notified of your login
information by the IPMA-HR. Use that information for logging onto
Blackboard. IPMA-HR students do not get Owl Link accounts.
Taking a hybrid class?
You will be notified by e-mail about how to
access your class.

When to access your
noncredit online class?
Ed2Go noncredit online classes are available on
the first day of class (a Wednesday).
Noncredit online classes using Blackboard will
be generally be available a few days before the class officially begins, giving
everyone time to work through any possible access problems.

How to access your
noncredit online class?
Most noncredit online classes are offered
through the www.ed2go.com/pgcc Web site.
To login, use the account information that you created when you enrolled at the
Ed2Go Web site.
Noncredit online classes using Blackboard can
be accessed at
http://pgcconline.blackboard.com. Note: This Web address does
not contain "www." To login, use your Owl Link account information.
